Just Another Friday Night

So...I've decided to try the blogging detail. People keep asking "What's new?" My answer is inevitably "Not much". Not because nothing happens...I just have a really bad memory. So I've decided to try and record life events online. Not online in the "World Wide Web" sense, but more in the "I'm going to write things as they occur" sense. Bring it on my friend, bring it on.

Tonight: ended up at C'est What?...a bar that is not nearly as pretentious as it sounds. Quite lovely actually. Went with some people from work, who are wonderfully entertaining. Highlights:

1. I was called an "Honourary Brit" by an English friend. Apparently, I have many British qualities (not the least of which is enjoying a pint or 5 after work). I can add this to my list of honourary cultureships: I have also been deemed an "Honourary East Coaster". Seeing as I've never met an East Coaster I didn't like, I take that as a compliment. And although it was never spoken aloud, I do believe that I was given an honourary membership into the Chinese culture by Christine's parents after eating chicken feet. Next goal: be labelled as an honourary Italian (My prediction: Never going to happen).

2. I realize I may have truly found the male Me. While it has always been apparent that my friend Kevin and I share many similarities, the pinnacle similarity was revealed at about 1:36 on our last pint of Hemp ale/Guiness. This was about the time we decided to have the ever-so-revealing moment of the friendship where we play each other our ringtones. Now, in my opinion, the selection of ringtone speaks volumes about one's personality. ESPECIALLY if the ringtone has been sought after and downloaded from the thousands available from Bell Mobility. I go through my downloaded selections which are:

1. Final Countdown: Europe (incoming calls)
2. Immigrant Song: LZ (messages)
3. Clocks: Coldplay (secondary for incoming calls)
4. Why Georgia: John Mayer (just a great example of a MIDI that sucks ass)

As I start playing my options for Kevin, he turns pale and appears as if he might faint. I ask him if everything's OK...it looks like he's seen a ghost (or possibly had too much Guiness, which of course is not possible). Wordlessly, he plays his downloaded ringtones. First and foremost:

1. Final Countdown: Europe (incoming calls)

Probability theory dictates that the chances of each selecting that ringtone are about 1:70926378. I think its safe to say that I've found the male me.

Drunk...must goto bed. We'll see how this blogging thing goes after I'm sober.
